Payment Processing Network

Secure, PCI-aligned network infrastructure that protects your customers' card data, built for the local businesses that process payments every day.

Who It's For

Built for the businesses that accept card payments every day

Convenience stores, gas stations, restaurants, and retail shops process payments in ways a standard office network was never designed to handle. We build the network around that reality.

Convenience Stores

High transaction volume across multiple registers, all kept on a network built to keep card data segmented from everything else in the store.

Gas Stations & Fuel Retailers

Pump terminals and in-store registers alike, protected against the card-skimming risks that fuel retailers deal with every day.

Restaurants & Quick-Service

Tableside and handheld POS devices stay isolated from guest Wi-Fi, so customers can browse and pay on the same premises without sharing a network.

Retail Shops & Boutiques

Point-of-sale and inventory systems on a network designed around how small retail operates, rather than a generic enterprise template.

Auto Dealers

Finance offices, service departments, and parts counters each accept payments differently, and each is segmented from dealership management systems and customer Wi-Fi.

Hospitality

Front desk, restaurant, and event payment points stay isolated from guest-room Wi-Fi and property management systems, across every location you operate.

Healthcare

Patient payment terminals stay separated from clinical systems and records, protecting card data without adding to the compliance burden you already carry.

Fitness

Membership desks and in-club retail payments run on a network built to keep card data away from gym Wi-Fi and access-control systems.

Why It Matters

Your customers' card data, kept where it belongs

Every layer of the network, from segmentation to day-to-day management, is designed around keeping payment data separate from everything else running at your location.

Segmented POS Network

Your point-of-sale systems run on a separate, isolated network from guest Wi-Fi, back-office systems, and security cameras, so a single compromised device never puts card data at risk.

PCI DSS-Aligned Design

Network architecture built around PCI DSS segmentation and access-control requirements, so your team is supported through compliance rather than left to interpret it independently.

Breach & Skimming Protection

Reduce exposure to the network intrusions and card-skimming schemes that lead to chargebacks, fines, and lost customer trust.

Simple, Managed Setup

Parallax designs, deploys, and manages the network, allowing your team to focus on running the business rather than maintaining firewall rules.

Understanding PCI DSS

Where your business fits

The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) sorts merchants into four levels based on annual transaction volume. Most single- and multi-location local businesses fall into Level 4. The obligation to comply begins at your first card transaction, not at a volume threshold.

1Level 16 million+ transactions/year

Annual on-site assessment by a Qualified Security Assessor (QSA), plus quarterly network scans.

2Level 21–6 million transactions/year

Annual Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ), plus quarterly network scans.

3Level 320,000–1 million e-commerce transactions/year

Annual SAQ, plus quarterly network scans.

4Level 4Under 20,000 e-commerce transactions/year (or up to 1 million total)

Annual SAQ, plus quarterly network scans. Most single- and multi-location local businesses fall into this level.

Exact thresholds are set by the card brands (Visa, Mastercard, and others) and can vary slightly. Confirm your specific level and required Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) type with your payment processor.

Know the Risks

How local businesses are actually breached

Card data is rarely stolen through a sophisticated intrusion. In most cases, the cause is one of these ordinary, everyday gaps.

Guest Wi-Fi Bridging

On an unsegmented network, a compromised guest or employee device can potentially reach the same network your POS terminals sit on.

Card Skimmers

Physical and digital skimmers installed on pumps, terminals, or payment pages capture card data before it ever reaches your processor.

Remote Access Left Open

Remote-access software left enabled on POS systems, often for vendor support, is one of the most common entry points attackers use.

Weak or Shared Credentials

Default passwords and logins shared across staff or locations mean one compromised credential can expose everything.

Outdated POS Software

Unpatched point-of-sale software carries known vulnerabilities that attackers actively scan the internet for.

Self-Check

Is your business at risk?

Review the list below. If even one applies to your environment, contact our team for an assessment.

Your POS terminals connect to the same Wi-Fi network as customers or guests
You are using a standard consumer router instead of a segmented business network
You do not know whether your business is PCI DSS compliant today
You operate more than one location with different network security setups, or none at all
Your POS software has not been updated in the last year
Anyone besides your IT provider can remotely access your POS systems
You do not have a written plan for what happens if a terminal is compromised
Your last security review was more than 12 months ago, or has never taken place
How It Works

From the register to your processor, without leaving a secure path
